Any big city is bound to have crime and safety issues. Dallas, however, offers many options for safe neighborhoods in and around the city.
Similar to other metropolitan areas, the further you get from the city center, the fewer reported incidents of crime. Even so, there are plenty of neighborhoods closer to downtown that boast low crime rates and excellent safety measures.

1. Flower Mound

Located in Denton county, Flower Mound is northwest of Dallas and close to the city center. Situated between Grapevine Lake and Lewisville Lake, residents of Flower Mound enjoy the scenic beauty of the water and partake in activities such as fishing and boating.

2. The Colony
North of Dallas in Denton County, you can find The Colony. This beautiful neighborhood is known for its location alongside Lewisville Lake and its tree-lined residential streets. In The Colony, the violent crime rate is 11.3 and the property crime rate is 20.
